1. Single arm special-shaped edging machine (abbreviated as special or single arm).

It can grind circular workpiece, ellipse workpiece and special-shaped workpiece. The independent sucker is mounted with a profiling machine, and some irregular workpiece can be grind with the special shaped machine. The special-shaped machine is simple in structure and relatively low in manufacturing cost, so the price is relatively cheap. The general domestic machine can be purchased at about 20,000 yuan.

2, linear edging machine

    Linear edge grinder has three characteristics: first, it can only grind all kinds of straight edges because of its single use; second, it can grind continuously with high production efficiency; third, it can grind flat glass with large size.

Linear edge grinder is the most variety and specification edge grinder in all kinds of edge grinders. It can be divided into the following three types according to the different linear edges that can be grinded:

(1) linear edge grinding machine (straight side machine)

    Straight edge grinding machine can only grind flat bottom edge and two edges and corners of glass. According to the number of grinding heads, there are three, five, eight, nine, ten, thirteen and fourteen grinding heads. Generally speaking, the more the number of grinding heads, the higher the grinding accuracy and productivity, and the higher the price of the machine accordingly. While the computer controlled straight edge machine (the general grinding head number is above ten or ten), the price is higher. In recent years, a dual-purpose straight-edge grinder, which can grind both flat and 45o bottom edges, has appeared in the domestic market, and its usage is quite large. There is also a grinding machine that can grind a group or two groups of mutually angled edges, called multistage edging machine. This type of machine has many grinding heads, generally controlled by computers, and the equipment price is relatively high.

(2) straight Circle (round edge machine)

   Round edge machine can grind the round edge of glass, duck edge and so on. It is used more in furniture and glass processing. Round edge machines also have three, five or six, seven or eight, nine grinding heads and other models.

(3) linear bevelling machine (bevelling machine)

   The beveling machine is commonly used for grinding the bevel edge of glass 3~20o. Now, some beveling machines can also grind the 45o bevel edge. There are seven or eight, nine, ten, eleven, fourteen grinding heads for the beveling machine according to the number of grinding heads. In recent years, a kind of beveling machine, called wave beveling machine, which can grind various wavy patterns on the beveling edge of glass has appeared.

3. Profile grinding machine (profiling machine)

    With the accurate positioning of the template, the machine can accurately grind the straight, round, duck-billed and oblique edges of circular or special-shaped glass. The shape of the glass produced by the machine is accurate, the size is uniform and the production efficiency is high. When there are many kinds of glass products, it is not only expensive to make the template, but also difficult to manage and replace the template. Therefore, this kind of machine is suitable for glass processing with few varieties but large batches. There are also several types of moulding machines, such as single, double, four and six, among which four and six moulding machines can be grinded at one time. There are nearly 100 domestic manufacturers of edge grinding machines. The imported grinding machines of some manufacturers are still in use for more than 10 years, and the machining accuracy is still higher than that of the domestic ones. 4. Internal circular edging machine (for short)

   The inner circle machine is characterized by its simple structure and low price, but its use is relatively simple. It is mainly suitable for processing the circumference of a circle (it can be a regular circle, an ellipse or a special circle). At present, some domestic factories have a longer internal arm and longer swing arms to increase the swing range of the grinding head. This type of machine not only can be used for grinding internal circles, but also for grinding external circles, also known as internal and external circular edging machines.

5, straight line bilateral grinding machine (referred to as bilateral mill).

   The double-sided grinder is characterized by simultaneous grinding of two opposite sides of glass, good processing accuracy and high production efficiency, and is suitable for large-scale glass edge grinding production. Bilateral grinder can be divided into two kinds according to its performance: double straight edge grinder and double round edge grinder, among which double straight edge grinder is more used. Two side mills can be divided into two small and medium-sized ones according to the width of the grinding glass. The maximum grinding width is less than two meters, which is called medium and small bilateral grinder. The grinding head is equipped with four, six, eight and twelve grinding heads. The maximum grinding width of two meters or more is called large bilateral grinder. The grinding head is equipped with 16, 20 and 22 grinding heads. Large bilateral grinder is usually controlled by computer, which has a high degree of automation and is suitable for grinding large-sized flat glass. However, the price of this kind of equipment is relatively expensive.

6. Other edging machines and special edging machines.

    In addition to the edge grinder introduced above, there are some simple edge grinders with single purpose, such as chamfering machine, small wafer machine, polishing machine, etc. In addition, there are some special edge grinders specializing in processing certain products, such as automotive rearview mirror edge grinder, washbasin edge grinder, etc.

7. Imported edging machine

   The imported machine has good quality and high accuracy, and its production efficiency and service life are much higher than that of domestic machines. But import machines are expensive, usually 3~10 times the price of similar machines in China. Imported edging machines come from Italy and produce better quality. In addition, there are more grinding machines from Korea and Taiwan.

2. Choose the type of edge grinding machine.

   There are many kinds of edge grinders. How to choose edge grinders depends on the characteristics of the processed products and the scale of production. In this paper, for example, circular edge grinder, which can grind circular edge, there are special-shaped machine, linear circular edge grinder, mold press, straight bilateral circular edge grinder and so on. How to choose, we must combine the requirements of processing products. If the products designed and processed are circular, elliptical or other special-shaped glass, then only special-shaped machine or die-relief machine can be selected (because linear circular edge machine can not grind circular or special-shaped workpiece). If there are many kinds of products designed and processed and the batch size is small, it is more appropriate to choose the special-shaped machine, because it is more convenient to replace the products of the special-shaped machine, and the machine price is cheaper. If the type of products designed and processed is small and the batch size is large, it is more appropriate to choose a touch machine because of its high production efficiency and easy to ensure the processing accuracy.

    If the products designed and processed are rectangular and rectangular glass, only the straight circular edge machine or the straight double circular edge machine can be selected (because the special-shaped machine and the mould relay machine can not grind the straight circular edge in general). When the product precision requirement is not very high and the production batch is not too large, the general linear circular edge machine can be selected (because its price is low); if the product precision requirement is high and the production batch is large, the linear double ZZ edge circular edge machine is more suitable.

3, the selection of edge grinding machine should pay attention to matters.

(3) seize the opportunity to train workers. Generally, large glass machinery factories will provide free training services for equipment operation. Therefore, when purchasing new equipment, relevant personnel in the factory should be selected to participate in the training so as to use it correctly and maximize the utility of the equipment in the future.

(4) spare parts to ensure production. Buy more necessary accessories (such as pressure plate, sucker glue, waterproof sleeve and other vulnerable accessories) to eliminate the impact of inadequate spare parts on production in the use of equipment.

Three, the use of edging machine

Proper and rational use of edge grinder can not only ensure the normal production, but also prolong the life of the machine. Here are some points for attention in the proper use of edging machine.

1, for all kinds of newly purchased edging machines, you must read the instructions before using them. After understanding the transmission principle of the machine, the functions of various handles, handwheels, electrical buttons, water and air regulating valves, and mastering the maintenance knowledge of the machine, the machine can be operated.

2. Whether the grinding head of the edge grinder is good or not has a great influence on the grinding quality of glass. The position and moving clearance of the grinding head have been adjusted when they leave the factory. When they are used, the rest of the grinding head should not be moved except for the forward and backward grinding head, so as to avoid affecting the grinding quality. In addition, the retreat position of the grinding head is not easy to be too large, otherwise it is easy to damage the waterproof sleeve, cause water leakage, and burn down the motor.

3, the adequacy of cooling has a greater impact on the grinding effect. Always check whether there is any blockage in the cooling line. Especially the pipeline of linear edge grinder is easy to be blocked by brush, and it is not easy to be detected after blocking, which will cause insufficient cooling and affect the quality of edge grinding.

4. The CVT used in the edge grinder must be in the open state when adjusting the speed, otherwise it is easy to damage the CVT of the edge grinder.

5. Matters needing attention when using special-shaped machines:

(1) the consistency of sucker in the worktable of the special-shaped machine has great influence on the grinding effect. When assembling, the manufacturer has self-polished five groups of sucker holders, and selected the same thickness of sucker glue to keep the height of each sucker consistent, so in general, do not disassemble and assemble suckers. If the sucker glue is damaged, the thickness should be selected to replace it.

(2) After using the vacuum pump of special-shaped machine for a period of time, the vacuum degree will decrease (i.e. the suction will decrease) due to water intake and other reasons. Therefore, attention should be paid to checking and troubleshooting. Otherwise, when the machine works under the condition of insufficient suction, on the one hand, it will affect the grinding quality, on the other hand, it is prone to safety accidents.

6. Notice in the use of linear edge grinder: The working mode of linear edge grinder (straight edge grinder, round edge grinder, beveling edge grinder) is grinding by clamping glass with front and rear pressing plates and driving its linear motion. We must pay attention to two points when using.

The joint of front and rear pressure plate and guide rail should be lubricated frequently, otherwise the normal service life of the machine will be affected by the premature wear of front and rear pressure plate and guide rail working face. Some models have automatic lubrication devices, but check the lubrication line regularly.

(2) When clamping the glass, the clamping force should be appropriate. Too loose will affect the grinding quality. Too tight will increase the load of the machine, easily produce the phenomenon of jitter and creep, and it is easy to break the glass when grinding thin glass. The clamping force can be tested by a slightly larger glass clamp on the machine, that is, the glass is clamped in the middle of the machine, and the glass is moved by the two hands forcefully when the machine is shut down, so that the clamping force can be adjusted to just when the two hands can not move.

7. Matters needing attention when using the profiling machine:

(1) the profile of the touch machine has great influence on the grinding accuracy. The working surface of the template must be accurate in shape and high in finish. If the shape depends on the template, the transition point must be smooth.

(2) When replacing the template and sucker, the level of sucker working face must be maintained, otherwise the grinding quality will be affected.

8. Points for attention when using double sided edging machine:

The bilateral edge grinder belongs to a higher grade edge grinder. It is better to fix two or three people to operate it in order to ensure correct operation.

(2) When there are errors or faults in the process of double-sided grinding, it is better to ask the original manufacturer to send someone to repair and debug it. Normally, do not disassemble and repair it in order to avoid disrupting the process and causing shutdown.
